How is The Fool different from The Magician?
The Fool is card 0: the step you have not taken. The Magician is card I: the tools already on the table. A reading that shows The Fool is asking whether you will begin. A reading that shows The Magician is asking whether you will use what you already have. Neither card forecasts a job offer, a diagnosis, or a relationship outcome.
Rider-Waite-Smith pictures The Fool at a cliff with a small bag and a white rose, and The Magician with the four suit symbols in reach. One image is potential. The other is means. If both appear, read The Fool as the decision to start and The Magician as the skills you would use after you start. The deck is not hiring you, treating you, or promising the leap lands.
